How do you read?

I feel like there’s a lot of controversy around what counts as reading… I’ve heard arguments that listening to a book isn’t the same as reading, or using a Kindle (or other device) isn’t the same as holding a physical book.

I see it like this… reading takes you to another place. You get to escape reality for a bit. It’s not always feasible to carry a book with you everywhere you go, and some people just don’t have the spare time to sit down with a book. I think listening to audiobooks is the perfect way to pass time on a road trip, on a commute to work, or while working out. Personally, my Kindle comes everywhere with me! I do have a collection of physical books that I plan to continue to grow, but I’ve never felt like I missed the “full experience” of reading a book because I read it on my Kindle.

And hey… that $11.99 Kindle Unlimited membership is a lot cheaper than buying multiple books each month.

What do you think? Does one form of reading “count” more than the others?
